PPC encourage communication among our employees, customers, partners, and others - and web blogs, social networks, discussion forums, wikis, video, and other social media can be a great way to engage in conversation and discussion.
Social Media Policy
Social Media a great tool for experienced PPC experts who want to share information of PPC services. PPC takes no position on an employee's decision to start or maintain a blog or participate in other social networking activities. However, it is the right and duty of the Company to protect itself from unauthorized disclosure of information.
The PPC Social Media Participation Policy applies to:
- Any blogs, wikis, video sites, and social networks hosted or sponsored by PPC.
- Your personal blogs that contain postings about PPC's business, products, employees, customers, partners, or competitors.
- Your postings about PPC's business, products, employees, customers, partners, or competitors on external blogs, wikis, discussion forums, or social networking sites such as Twitter, Facebook, or You Tube.
- Your participation in any media related to PPC's business, products, employees, customers, partners, or competitors, whether you create a video, audio, photos to post or link to on your blog, you contribute content for a video or audio, or you appear in a video or photo created either by another PPC employee or by a third party.
Even if your social media activities are off work, what you say can have an impact on your ability to handle your job responsibilities, your coworker' abilities to do their jobs, and PPC's business interests.
This section describes the requirements that are most relevant to PPC employees participating in social media of various kinds (PPC hosted and external). It is extremely important that you follow these requirements. Failure to do so may result in disciplinary action, up to and including termination of your employment with PPC.
Only authorized employees can prepare and modify content for any PPC blog and/or PPC social networking entries. All employees must identify themselves as employees of PPC when posting comments or responses on the Company's blog or on the social networking site. Any copyrighted information where written reprint information has not been obtained in advance cannot be posted on PPC's blog.

Protect Confidential Information
Employees may not publicly discuss clients, products, employees or any work-related matters, whether confidential or not, outside Company-authorized communications. Such information includes but is not limited to customer information, trade secrets, financial information and strategic business plans.
Protecting the confidential information of our employees, customers, partners, and suppliers is also important. Do not mention them, including PPC executives, in social media without their permission.
In addition, you may not publish (nor should you possess) our competitors' proprietary or confidential information.

Make sure to respect others' privacy. Be aware that false or defamatory statements or the publication of an individual's private details could result in legal liability for PPC and you.
Don't Speak for PPC
Unless specifically instructed, employees are not authorized to speak on behalf of PPC.
For this reason, PPC employees with personal blogs that discuss PPC's business, products, employees, customers, partners, or competitors should include the following disclaimer in a visually prominent place on their blog:
The views expressed on this [blog; Web site] are my own and do not necessarily reflect the views of PPC.
Similarly, if you appear in a video or produce an audio recording intended for distribution, you should preface your comments by making it clear that you are not an PPC spokesperson and your opinion doesn't necessarily reflect PPC's.
Employees' postings can be reviewed by anyone, including PPC. PPC reserves the right to monitor comments or discussions about the Company, its employees, clients and the industry, including products and competitors, posted on the Internet by anyone, including employees and non-employees. PPC reserves the right to use content management tools to monitor, review or block content on Company blogs that violate Company blogging rules and guidelines.
PPC expects all guest bloggers to abide by this policy. The Company reserves the right to remove, without advance notice or permission, all guest bloggers' content considered inaccurate or offensive. PPC also reserves the right to take legal action against guests who engage in prohibited or unlawful conduct.
Additionally: don't post anonymously; respect copyrights; use video responsibly; stick to PPC topics on PPC-sponsored blog site.
PPC respects the right of employees to use blogs and social networking sites as a medium of self-expression and public conversation and does not discriminate against employees who use these media for personal interests and affiliations or other lawful purposes. However, employees are expected to follow the guidelines and policies set forth in this policy to provide a clear line between them as individuals and them as a PPC employee.
Bloggers and commenters are personally responsible for their commentary on blogs and social networking sites. Bloggers and commenters can be held personally liable for commentary that is considered defamatory, obscene, proprietary or libelous by any offended party, not just PPC.
If contacted by the media or press about their post that relates to PPC business, employees are required to speak with the Communications Director before responding.
