PPC Community Service: Youth Programs

InnoWorks

www.innoworks.org

InnoWorks is a trail-blazing science and engineering program designed and implemented by college volunteers for middle-school students from disadvantaged backgrounds. The flagship program of United InnoWorks Academy, a non-profit educational organization founded in 2003, InnoWorks helps students from underprivileged backgrounds explore real-world links among science and engineering disciplines; promotes teamwork, learning, and career interests in science and engineering; and builds problem-solving skills and confidence.

In 2007, PPC got involved as an official sponsor of the InnoWorks program offered at the University of Maryland. With our financial support, dozens of young people had a chance to explore valuable new areas of knowledge through inspiring hands-on experiences at an event held at the university’s College Park, MD campus.

PPC and its employees conduct a broad variety of other service programs that engage young people, including various programs described under other areas of our website’s Serving Our Community section.
