Fortune 50 Company
GHG Baseline Inventory and Management Strategy

Business Objective:
A Fortune 50 Company wanted to know its corporate GHG emissions in an effort to begin mitigation strategies and submit a completed questionnaire to the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) for 2006.

Solution:
PPC inventoried all corporate GHG emissions in a complete, detailed, accurate, and transparent process to create the company’s GHG baseline in a manner that could be easily replicated and updated over the coming years. PPC created a GHG database to store all corporate electricity, fuel, refrigeration, fleet, and associated cost data to track and quantify the company’s GHG emissions.

Project Details:

The GHG data collection process and quantification methodologies were designed specific to each direct and indirect emissions source within inventory boundaries to ensure a complete baseline estimate.

PPC verified GHG data with through an extensive quality assurance process.

Project Results:

With a project schedule of only three months, quantified and analyzed over 20 million tonnes of CO2 equivalent emissions.

• Created an inventory of sufficient detail and accuracy for reporting to the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP).

Established location-specific baseline from baseline estimate which to track future emissions and identify mitigation options.
