Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Emissions Auditing and Verification


Business Objective:
A Fortune 50 company required an objective third party to review their corporate GHG inventory and review their GHG management plan.

Solution:
PPC reviewed the company’s energy and GHG data to evaluate emissions inventory boundary conditions, change controls, base year, emissions quantification methods, and information management practices.  To perform the audit, PPC examined corporate documents, interviewed corporate staff, and performed a desktop review of corporate data.  Utilizing PPC’s GHG Protocol-based auditing checklist, PPC creates a detailed report which identifies areas for improvement and necessary corrective actions.

Project Details: 

• Employed a PPC GHG Auditing Checklist, based on principles from the World Resources Institute/World Business Council for Sustainable Development’s GHG Protocol.

• Provided recommendations for a corporate GHG management plan to meet EPA Climate Leaders standards.

• Provided a 12-page report highlighting GHG inventory recommendations.
