Web-Based Learning–Corrective Action 101
Business Objective:
Create an educational “e-Learning” website that supports the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA), enacted by Congress in 1976 to protect human health and the environment from the potential hazards of waste disposal.
PPC Solution:
Developed an animation-enhanced website to educate the public, State officials, operators of facilities seeking RCRA permits, and others of the RCRA Corrective Action Program requirements.
Technology Details:
• n-Tier Microsoft architecture using IIS, SQL Server, IE 5.0+ or Netscape 4.07+ browsers.
• Feature-rich interactive user interface developed using Macromedia Flash and JavaScript.
• Creative animation scenes simulating a student teacher environment to facilitate online distance learning
Project Results:
• Deployed a successful e-learning website tool exploiting the latest website animation technology.
• The project has been so successful that follow-on website animation work was awarded to PPC across the EPA.
